“Having stayed in other rain forest resorts in Central America, I was not left wanting by our stay at the Sleeping Giant. The grounds are incredibly well kept, the pool superbly designed. We stayed in Casita 4 which provided a lovely sense of privacy and seclusion all the while being in close proximity to the pool and easy walking distance to the bar and restaurant. The staff were friendly and always helpful-this was a sense of warmth and interest that felt quite natural. The day trip to Guatemala to see Tikal was perfectly planned and we were very well looked after. The help of the Sleeping Giant staff at the border crossing was invaluable and truly worth the cost of the excursion. The casita was airy, well designed and wonderfully comfortable. The outdoor tub provided the perfect spot for a bit of romance under stars. We had a relaxing and romantic experience. The bar and restaurant are intimate-my only words of critique were that by the end of our stay we were ready for a more variety in our food and drink. You will however, find Swift to be a more than capable and charming bartender and the food always well cooked. The views from the open air dining area at breakfast and lunch are beautiful.
We would definitely return to Sleeping Giant and recommend to friends and family.”

Exceeded our expectations. Warm friendly staff, good food, and the nicest room we have ever had. The casitas are incredible. A few rooms in the lodge are like regular hotel rooms, but our casita was beautiful, and the service of all the staff and the GM, Eugene, was incomparable. Adventure package included a great cave tubing experience, cool visit to two interesting Mayan ruins and horseback riding thru the jungle. All guides were very professional and knowledgeable. Beautiful pool and bikes and kayaks available.”

“I had an amazing time while at the Sleeping Giant. The staff made us feel welcome and apart of the family. The food was A+. And the Sleeping Giants grouds are kept up very well. There were plenty of outdoor activities to choose from around the area.”
